STUDENTS

The Exchange Students is our student ministry and is a fun and safe environment for grade 9 through 12 to grow and make new friends. At The Exchange we seek to make the truth of Jesus Christ famous, relevant, and attractive.

Meet with us every Wednesday from 7pm to 9:30pm. See you there!

Hey, 

Just wanted to update you on what is happening at youth in the coming weeks! 

Feb.15 - Small Groups
How are you spending the day after Valentines Day? I want to invite you to The Exchange! We will be diving into our small groups and talking about same-sex attraction/transgender. We are also going to be opening up with some FACE BALL!

Feb.23-25 - Triumph Youth Retreat 2018
Early-bird has come and passed but that doesn't mean you cant still to come! Would love to see you all at the retreat this year! Cost is now $150 but if you want to come but have a hard time financially, let me know :) 
We are currently at 43 people attending! Lets invite your friends and push that to 50!

March 1st - Encounter
We have a guest speaker coming on March 1st, Pastor Joey Molloy. He was the student ministries Pastor at the Met and is now a camp director. If you are looking for a summer job, come on out and perhaps land one with him!

feb.23-25: Triumph youth retreat

This is our second Triumph youth retreat! Ask anyone who attended last year and this is something you will not want to miss. 

The theme for this year is Breakthrough. We are praying that after this weekend you will find Breakthrough in your relationship with God. 

Our guest speaker is the Youth Director for Western Ontario, Mark Colwell.

1) What do you do for a living?

I have the privilege to Pastor this amazing group of students ! 

2) What is the most played song on your iPod?

Grace so Glorious - Elevation Worship 

3)What led you to become a leader? 

I grew my faith in a community of people who welcomed me, walked with me, and supported me. I want to create that same family atmosphere in the lives of the next generation. 

4)What is the best purchase you've ever made under $5.00?

A hackey sack

Snowboarding down a mountain, playing hockey, or hanging with friends !

1) What do you do for a living?

Studying DSW at Algonquin College

3)What led you to become a leader?

When I was in high school I needed someone to talk to, and I want to be that person for somebody else.

A churro, if you havn tried them you MUST!

1) What do you do for a living?

 I am currently a student.. but an aspiring business manager

3) What led you to become a leader?

Seeing all the amazing youth in our church really made me want to be a part of their lives, and be able to spend more time with them and influence them through leadership.

4)What is the best purchase you've ever made under $5.00?

Bag of Reese's minis..

5) Outside of Church, where can we find you?

You can probably find me studying on campus.. or at a concert 😂

Carlos Sarmiento

1) What do you do for a living? 
I work as an electromagnetic technologist.

2)What is the most played song on your iPod? 
Deliver Me by David Crowder Band.

3) What led you to become a leader?
I felt that God has been telling me to be a leader for the youth, and without telling anyone aside from Caroline, when Pastor Nick talked to us about becoming leaders I knew it was from God.

4) What is the best purchase you've ever made under $5.00?
My nine-inch cleaver (kitchen knife).

5) Outside of Church, where can we find you?
At home in the winter; cruising in my car or at the paintball field in the summer.

Caroline Sarmiento

1) What do you do for a living? 
I am a communications officer and writer/editor.

2) What is the most played song on your iPod? 
Hold My Heart by Tenth Avenue North.

3) What led you to become a leader?
Carlos and I felt God has been guiding us towards leadership roles. We started connecting with a couple of students at the church, and when we were asked to become youth leaders, we knew this was where we were being called to be.

4) What is the best purchase you've ever made under $5.00?
An acrylic paint pen.

5) Outside of Church, where can we find you?
Hanging out with friends and family, often at home.

 I had a couple of really great leaders growing up in youth who helped me along with my walk with God and I wanted to do that for someone else.

A cup of coffee in Italy!
